Week 7: ‘At least I die Trying’

IMG_1103

Although I am not a huge fan of making a death scene as I cannot imagine that happening anytime soon, I created this scene of my death. I title it ‘At least I die Trying’, what this means is pretty straight forward. I am a Mexican young adult pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering to someday become a successful C.E for a great company like Apple, Dell, HP, IBM, and many more. When we were assigned this activity for this week, the first thing that came to mind was what would happen if I really did die? I hate the idea of death but I am aware that everyone will have to face it at some point or another. Therefore, I said to myself that one of the things that I most want is to complete my academic career and represent a large number of students with academic backgrounds like my own. Ever since I was a child I have wanted to become a Computer Engineer. For one, I just want to have the ability to say “I am an engineer” and I love and enjoy technology, therefore I want to live creating and help developing it. Life is only a dream and I definitely agree that it is too short, that is why we should make the best of it doing what we love and enjoying every second of it! With that said, ‘At least I die Trying’ and if I don’t then I will get to the top of the mountain.

Week 6: Yarn Really Bombed Me!

His leash made of yarn and my mind filled with yarn, all night we had to live in yarn! What the heck does that mean? Well simply means what it means haha. A story to tell, My brother decided to go on a small weekend trip to Vegas and left me as dog sitter of this good looking fella named Madko. Well things were going pretty smooth and Saturday night as I was on my way to the kitchen I accidentally wake him up and he begins to scratch his ears like never before. By this time it was about 1:30 in the morning. Things seemed to be fine, but he only continued to scratch his ears. at about 2:30 in the morning he began to smack his head on sofas and doors, all while barking. I pull him over and take a look at his ears to find blood and him nearly removing his own ears from his head. I rushed to the emergency vet where they had him checked out. We were informed that he has Otitis which is a very strong dog ear infection. I was really yarned! with his collard made of yarn and the situation taking place so late at night he really just ‘bomb yarned me!’. Today Madko is doing better as he is on medication and ear drops, but that night was truly a ‘BOMB YARN!’

Week 4: My Performing Arts Video!

as I was unable to upload my video to my word press blog, I have posted the link to my video on youtube above. This video represent a large portion of my life. I have a small background with performing arts as I use to play trumpet through middle school. I was first chair and enjoyed it very much, however as I grew up other things took over the time in my life which pulled me away from the arts. However, creating this video has brought back much of the memories and transformed them to represent who I am today as an adult. Many times as I work on code for my programming classes I like to listen to smooth jazz or sometimes even piano solos to help me relax and focus. Other times I like to code in a middle of a crowd and complete my labs and homework that way. The interesting thing is that none of those settings are ever planned, it all comes down to how I feel at that precise moment. With that said, I would like to share my video of performing code as I think and focus as I play an independent film titles “Mr. Nobody”. Many of us try hard to create this very structured life where everything happens as we plan it, however as I have learned life is very difficult to plan. Overall, I enjoy to live and look forwards to move forward, now with the beauty of appreciating art.

Week 3: Instagram Activity

Although I am not new to Instagram this weeks ‘Insta’ activity was fun! I posted some valuable pictures that resemble my life and my interests’. Furthermore, this is the first time in history that I open myself to have a public social web portal. Many people commented on my pictures, some being very inspirational and up-lifting. Here I have posted my front cover page to Instagram to show who I am to the world!

Week 2: Conversation with Valeria Perez

Valeria PerezThis week (week 2) i had the pleasure to spend time discussing some observations that we both had in regards to the art work displayed at the werby-gallery at CSULB. Valeria, is a very bright young woman who observes art in a very attractive manner. It was a great experience talking to Valeria. Taking a selfie next to my favorite art work was incredible. To me, this image represents growth, integrity, communication, friendship and the list can just go on. I have learned a lot from Valeria, how to remember small things that I believed did not matter like peoples favorite color and their birthdays. Overall, spending Week 2 class time at the werby-gallery with Valeria was an amazing time!
